The 17-year-old Rita Atria breaks the mafia’s code of silence to testify against the “the family” after her father and brother are murdered. The Sicilian Girl depicts organized crime’s pervasive grip on the country using a fresh narrative approach and a sharply critical tone. This riveting drama is based on a real life story—writer/director Marco Amenta drew a documentary from the same material in 2002.

Produced by Simonetta Amenta, Tilde Corsi and Gianni Romoli. Director of Photography: Luca Bigazzi. Studio Spotlight screening courtesy of Music Box Films.
