Bride Flight is based
on the true story of the famed 1953 “Last Great Air
Race” from London, England to Christchurch, New Zealand,
which carried Dutch brides to their new country. The
women are joining their fiancés who have gone ahead to
get settled after the North Sea flood devastated their
homeland. Bride Flight brilliantly switches between the
50s, 60s and the present, and explores the women’s
interconnectedness and the lives they’ve made for
themselves in New Zealand.
