Directed by Xilin CHEN. With actors from the China National Theatre Company.

 

 

A documentary about the production of a play, “Blind City,” based on the novel Blindness by Jose Saramago, the Portugese Nobel Prize winning author. Chinese actors and their director are rehearsing the play while behind-the-scenes, a tug of war is going on to procure the rights to produce it. A glimpse into theatre production in China and the power struggle to stage the play. Filmed in Beijing, at the home of the China National Theatre Company. Produced by Xiaoni CHEN.
